Founded in 1942, Chiba Institute of Technology (Chiba Tech) is Japan's oldest private technical university. Located in Narashino, it is known for a hands-on, lab-driven research culture across fields like AI, robotics, design, and aerospace. Its graduate programs bring students into real research early, with Tokyo just a short train ride away from campus.

Chiba Tech covers tuition, accommodation, and food (except daily lunch) for the full two-year program, plus a monthly stipend for the duration of your studies. Economy airfare from Bhutan to Japan is reimbursed, and visa arrangements are handled by Chiba Tech.

The flagship option is Chiba Tech's School of Design & Science (SDS), an English-language, antidisciplinary Masters focused on building evidence-based products, services, and systems with AI as a foundational medium.

Bhutanese citizens with a completed (or near-complete) Bachelor's degree, strong English, and a clear interest in using technology to build things that matter, for Bhutan, for Japan, for the world. Prior research, building, or public-service experience is a plus, not a requirement.
